Switzerland

The diversity of this landlocked, mountainous country is the essence of Switzerland and gives the country its unique identity. Still, it is best known for its financial institutions, fine cheeses and chocolate, watch-making industry, for its scenery and an excellent network of public transportation. Switzerland is also known, quite simply, as the water tower of Europe as some of the biggest rivers in Europe have their sources here
The lakes and rivers, with their crystal waters, are among the most popular places in Switzerland to visit. The water quality is outstanding and most lakes also serve as drinking water reservoirs. Switzerland is not only a land of fascinating lakes and rivers, it also offers spectacular waterfalls including the Rhine Falls, the biggest waterfall in Europe and wherever there are high mountains you will also find deep gorges, carving their way through gigantic masses of rock. There are countless numbers of them in the Swiss Alps and these make fantastic venues for day trips.
In some parts of Switzerland, people still live their lives in symbiosis with nature - a close interaction that continues to benefit both. For countless generations, the farming population has lovingly tended and vitalized the charming Alpine landscape. Some of the farmers know everything about local mushrooms and are experts at their cultivation; others seem to speak the language of marmots. It's truly fascinating to see how a mountain farmer leads his daily life.
Mysterious moors, rushing waterfalls cascading down the mountains, jagged rock formations, and lush Alpine meadows covered with flowers never fail to enchant the onlooker. Here you will find total relaxation, and time to breathe deeply, to marvel at the simple things in life, which make Switzerland so wonderful.
